The Gambia boys beach Volleyball team made history On Sunday by beating the Caribbean nation of Saint Vincent and Grenadines 2-0 (21-19, 21-19) in the opening of the 2018 Youth Olympic games in Argentina.
The victory is The Gambia’s first at this level.
The team now faces Sweden today Tuesday and Germany on Thursday. Volleyball officials at home were delighted with the result and are confident that the team is capable of beating Sweden though the Scandinavian side is a bigger opposition.
