The Janneh Commission will today embark on a site visit as part of its mandate to investigate the financial dealings of the exiled former President Yahya Jammeh, family and close associates, sources close to the inquiry revealed to The Standard yesterday.
The sites to be inspected according to sources are Nawec power station at Kotu, Brikama power station and the national petroleum storage facility at Mandinary.
The said companies have featured prominently at the inquiry with many witnesses making stunning revelation about their operations over the past two decades under the former regime.
The purpose of the visit is to enable the inquiry to have first hand information. The Inquiry had earlier visited State House, mining sites at Sanyang, Tujereng, Badarr in Upper River Region, airport, Kanilai , Bujinga and Dunes Hotel among other sites.
The recent visit might be the last leg of the inquiry as it winds down its sittings. The next sittings are expected to be on 23 October.
