President Muhammadu Buhari has been commended by his Senegalese counterpart, Macky Sall, for his intervention in The Gambian impasse, which led to restoration of democracy in the West African country.
Former President Yahya Jammeh had baulked at handing over power to Adama Barrow, winner of December 2016 presidential election, before ECOWAS leaders, with inspiration from President Buhari, insisted on Jammeh’s exit at the expiration of his term in January.
In a message to the Nigerian leader, Macky Sall said: “Thank you again for your support in The Gambia. May Almighty Allah give you greater health and energy to conduct the destiny of Nigeria.”[ad_2]
